Here I am--back again in Blogworld. Don't know if I have any faithful readers left out there, but here's the news for the inquiring minds. Today it finally looks like November!! It's gray and rainy and I'm lovin it! Last week we had both the heater and the ac on, on the same day!! Crazy!!
My sister, Pat, was here all last week. We accomplished a lot or retail therapy. We went the the nursing home first. They were wanting to move Mom to a more skilled care unit, so we got to clean out her closet and drawers. There is always weird stuff around, left by the wandering Alzheimer's patients. Usually she had tons of silverware left by Alice, who leaves it in drawers of those she likes. Then we got rid of all of Mom's old clothes that she has outgrown. Then we had to buy all new ones--hooray for Kohl's. It would have been so depressing to do all that alone, so thanks, Pat, for helping out!!
We shopped the other days for Pat. Emily was a trooper, but she is not interested in shopping again with anyone for anything! It was fun to have someone around to talk to and make laugh. BTW the new Choxie truffles at Target are YUMMY X a million!!!
So I'm back to a quiet house with Miss Em. We are all ready for Jess to get home on Friday!! Jess and I plan to go to Jeff City on Sat to show the pendants. That should be a FUN time!! Then it will be time to get together some turkey and stuff. It's fun to get to cook this year!
I am loving my new bifocal contacts. I can see without my little 1/2 glasses--amazing! There was practically 0 adjustment time!! This modern technology is good stuff for us "old timers."
Time to read to Em and the laundry beckons. All for now. KK

So, welcome back! With your sister around, I see why you haven't blogged much. I'm glad to see someone else likes the grey, gloomy weather. I guess I would make a good Englishman, since they say it's like this all the time over there. Anyway, I too am glad November is really here.
I think everyone with any association at all to Harding is counting the hours and minutes until Friday. My whole crew will be off for 10 solid days (except Ryan who still has to go to UCA Mon and Tues--poor guy). I hope they don't get sick of taking care of the old guy with the gimpy arm. I guess if they all suddenly volunteer to go outside and start raking leaves, then I'll know something is afoot (or a-arm, bad pun).
Happy holidays, and in the true politically uncorrect spirit of the season, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I'm faithful! :-) Just wanted to let you know I've been checking on you, even if I haven't written any myself!
Time is zipping by! It's been a bit crazy around here, but I too am waiting for Friday for my 2 big girls to come home. Don't think they'll be as excited to see me as I'll be to see them.
Matt and Joanna and I all have school next Monday and Tuesday. Ugh! Wish we had the whole week...but, I'll take the 3 days they're giving.
And for dkd, in another 2 weeks, it'll be Merry Christmas. Tell Em to take her vitamins so she'll be ready for the Christmas shopping season.
I hope you have a great week...love ya, Pattie
It was about time for an update!
Amie
I'll comment to your blog, but mine is still lonely and wishing for an update...I'll clean the cobwebs out of the keyboard today and maybe make a post soon...
Glad you got to have a little fun last week. Know you'll be having BIG fun with your big girl home next week! We are wishing ours would go back to school...yesterday was Professional Development--today it rained so hard that 1/2 of Jackson was flooded and school was actually cancelled! We couldn't believe it--Sydney actually cried! I'm all about rainy days, but this is a little much!
Happy Tuesday--glad y'all are well...so are we--mostly!
Love to all!
JK
